We show our pilote film, present our documentary and there will be time for Q & A afterwards.

Hans Ludvigsson plays Bruce covers.
Sometime during the evening a lottery with nice Brucerelated prices will be held.

Yesterday me and my friend Ingela, who is visiting in Stockholm, went to the Dreamfactory, a mini festival about film and filmmaking.

It started out very nicely, when Calle my boyfriend called a cab, it proved to be Morgan, a Brucefan that Mikael and I had interviewed for the film, who was behind the wheel. Morgan works as a taxidriver and now he took us to Filmhuset for the festival party.

There were a lot of people there and we soon started talking and mingling. I took a flyer for our film project and walked straight up to Leif Pagrotsky, the swedish minister for Culture. I handed him the flyer and told him a bit about our film and how we try to get an interview with Bruce.

– Why don’t you meet him when he comes here?, the secretary asked.
– We’re trying to arrange an interview, if we don’t get one when he comes here, we’ll try to stop by New Jersey when we go to Nashvill to interview Garry Tallent, the bass player in E Street Band. By the way, do you know how we can finance our film?
-Try the Swedish Film Institute.
– Ok, but do you have any other suggestions?
– The department of culture only hands out the money to the big institutions, I don’t have the names of them all, you’d have to search for them yourself.
– Thanks!

As the evening passed by I also met Mattias and Mathilde, we practise karate together and they proved to be in the film business too. Perhaps we can arrange a joint venture, we need a cameraman and a sound technician for the US-trip, and Mattias was interested in working as a cameraman. We also invited them to party with us at Candy’s Room in May.

We also met with Per Holm, he’s a consultant for Film i Västerbotten. Per knows Ingela well, because he’s financing her film.

Per proved to be a devoted Brucefan too, and we talked a lot about our film, the music, our plans, and the interview with Mr. Tallent. He wanted to see our storyboard, budget and know more about our film. It sounds very promising, and maybe we’ll be able to get some financing from Film i Västerbotten!

We had a truly wonderful night at the party, we did a lot of networking and hopefully it will really benefit our film!

We’ve got good news!
We have confirmed an interview with E Street Band-member Garry Tallent! All we have to do now is raise the cash for a trip to Nashville, with a stop in New Jersey too.

To get some money into our project we have decided to launch a club evening here in Stockholm.

Thursday May 19th, at seven o’clock pm we open the gates to Candy’s Room.

We’ve rented a cool place at Gamla stan, at Själagårdsgatan 21, a cellar vault where we’re going to play live music. Hans Ludvigsson has agreed to come from Jönköping for a solo accoustic performance, playing Bruce covers. There will also be time to mingle, listen to albums with Bruce, Miami Steve, Nils Lofgren and Southside Johnny, have a beer and talk to other Brucefans.

We will of course show our pilote film and all the money we raise will be used for our trip to Nashville.

We’ve been catching our breath after a few hard days of work.
After the ticket sale was announced, Mikael and I had a hard time getting our hands on a camera, but we managed to borrow one mini-DV from Svante, a friend of my boyfriend’s. Thanks to Svante we had the equipment so we could film during the ticket sale.

I got to the Globe arena early Sunday morning, got myself a numer for the line, and then I started waiting for Mikael. He was going to hitchhike from Västervik on Saturday, but he got stuck so he didn’t arrive until Sunday morning. I was a bit worried then…

When I had to leave for work, a friend took my place in the line. Mikael spent the day filming and talking to our fellow Brucefriends. Though there are a lot of waiting, you seldom get bored. You talk to friends, discuss every angle of Bruce’s music, have a snack or a nap, go to McDonald’s to get out of the wind, listen to some good music, and suddenly the hours have passed by without you noticing it.

We had a lovely time in the line, though it was a bit windy. But the night went all right and in the morning everybody was on their toes. The line was organized perfectly, nobody managed to sneak through and we all got our tickets.

Before the sale started we filmed, and I took some still photos. Several tv-stations were there to shoot, newspaper- and radiojournalists were also there to interview people in line. We both got good tickets for the show, as did most of our friends. It was fun to be able to shoot during the time people was waiting, some had been there as early as six days before the sale went on!

Hopefully the material we got is good, and we also hope we got some attention for our film. We had printed a lot of flyers for the project that we handed out to everybody in the line. Now we’re facing more work with the budget, raising money, organizing a sponsor party, showing our pilot film and contacting the tv-networks. But it’s fun and we really hope that we pull this one through!

Today it’s official. Ticketrelease for Bruce Springsteen’s two concerts in Sweden will take place om Monday, April 18th.

Already fans have gathered around the Globe arena, to stand in line for tickets. Hopefully we’re going to make our way there too, to take pictures, film and talk to the fans.

We’re a bit jumpy too, you can only buy two tickets per person, so it’s going to take som effort to get a hold of one. Not even we are sure we’re going to make it.

After four days of hard work in Umeå we are back in Stockholm.
With the great help of our friend, Ingela Hjulfors-Berg, we have a six minute long pilot film.

The initial difficulties were solved after a good bit of reorganizing of the material. We managed to edit it in a better way and we were quite proud of ourselves by lunch time on Saturday. But then we ran into more problems as we were going to burn the film to a dvd-disc. We were cursing all kinds of devils, but nothing helped. Unfortunately we didn’t have the time to solve the problem, but Ingela is doing her best to duplicate the the film to a dvd, and hopefully we’ll see the result in a week or so.

After almost nine hours on the bus Mikael and I could wash the traveldust off our faces. Right now we are preparing the english translation of our pilot film, and I’m making the cover to the dvd.

We are waiting eagerly for the tourdates to be released so we can plan our filming. We need complimentary footage of our fans, standing in line for tickets. We also hope to raise money so we can go to Asbury Park, NJ, to shoot.

Now we are looking forward to listen to Bruce Springsteen’s new record that will be released April 25th.

We are in Umeå now, we’ve been here for two days, working on our trailer for the film.
Thanks to our good friend Ingela we’ve been able to come up here for the editing.

Yesterday we spent a good part of the day logging material into the computer. We had some trouble getting the different tape recorders and other stuff to work together, but after finding the right cables we made it all work.

Today we’ve been editing about six minutes, but it needs a bit of reorganization to work perfectly. Hopefully we’ll manage to get it all right on the two days we have left. But despite som technical problems we have a lot of fun during the long hours and on the whole it’s all progressing beautifully.

The weather is lovely. The sun is shining, the sky is blue, the snow is melting and it would be wonderful to go out skiing. We took a break, tested the local speciality rolled up pizza, which we ate at the stairs of the city square. It’s important not to miss the sightseeing…

Now it’s time to get back to the post-it stickers for some hard work, there are still loose ends that needs to be tied up!

Since the convention in Rågsved, there has been quite a few fans who has showed interest in supporting our film financially. Therefore we’ve established an account, where people can deposit money to help us finish the documentary.

It’s a so called postgirokonto and the number of the account is PG 152 54 65-9. So far it’s only possible for swedish citizens to put money in this account, but should any foreigners be interested in doing so too, we sugggest that you contact us. You can find our e-mail addresses in the very first post at this site.

Our plans right now are to go to Umeå to edit a ten minute trailer for the documentary. We are leaving for Umeå on March 22nd and we’re staying there until the 27th. Hopefully we’ll get everything finished so we can promote our project and get in serious discussions with the Swedish national television (SVT) about buying our film.

Yesterday we went to Rågsved, one of the southern suburbs in Stockholm, to attend the very first swedish Springsteen convention.

At noon sharp, we were among the first to enter. The venue soon was filled with fans eager to watch Brucevideos, listen to lectures and enjoying the atmosphere.

Mattias, one of the persons who arranged the convention, talked about Brucebasics, things the not so experienced listener needed to know about the developement of Springsteen’s career.

Mikael and I shared the latest news on our filmproject and showed some excerpts from our fan interviews, and journalist Måns Ivarsson told us about his experience when he hung out with Bruce in 1992, on the rehearsal for the HT/LT world tour.

We also did a little filming, interviewing Mattias and Michel who arranged the convention.

Later that evening the Hungry Heart Band performed, they played for almost 3,5 hours and left everyone very happy. Many members of the springsteen.se community got special requests played by Ludde and his talented band and they didn’t stop playing until 2 am.

The convention was visited by some 40-50 people and hopefully this wasn’t the last one!

Hi!

There’s been some time since the last report, but now things are starting to come together again.

Bruce Springsteen is releasing a new album in April, but already this weekend swedish fans are gathering for the first convention ever to take place in our country.

The convention is going to take place at Rågsveds Folkets hus tomorrow, February 19th, and there will be cover bands, lectures and a chance to watch Springsteenshows on dvd.

Mikael and I are going to be there to film and we’re also going to talk about the making of our documentary. It will be a lot of fun, meeting all the friends, so stay tuned for more reports from the convention!
